I wanted to say,
"I would love to know your obsessions.
Is it landed house, gadgets, power, domestic life, succulent plants,
achievements, money, work, more likes and followers, health,
validation, sex, organic food, pets, perfect selfies, children, sports, religion,
relationship, minimalism, perfection, muscles, urban toys, shoes, travelling, or fame?" 
but nobody is prepared for that kind of question on a first dates.
So I said, "You look great."

Sejujurnya saat pertama kali melihat cover buku ini,  saya berfikir ini adalah buku spiritual, buku tentang 7 sifat buruk manusia yang harus dienyahkan, sort of. Ternyata saya salah, buku ini malah bercerita sebaliknya, kumpulan pikiran-pikiran terdalam manusia (perempuan terutama) yang selama ini sedang bertarung di hati paling dalam. 

Buku ini berisi tentang puisi-puisi, jika bisa disebut puisi, ditemani dengan ilustrasi-ilustrasi urban culture. Meskipun feminim sekali, yang saya pikir hanya akan bisa diselami mendalam oleh perempuan, namun saya suka dengan porsi kesatiran sang penulis. Puisi-puisi disana merupakan potret dari wanita modern, thoughtful namun jauh di dalam menyimpan inferiority. Potret wanita urban dengan gaya hidupnya dan pertarungan batinnya.

Porsi ke-negativan mungkin cukup besar sehingga bagi beberapa perempuan yang berbeda aliran, mungkin buku ini terlalu dark dan what the hell...? Namun kembali lagi, karya sastra diciptakan bukan untuk memuaskan semua pihak kan?

Saya sejujurnya cukup mengapresiasi karya sastra ini. Meskipun di awal saya suudzon menduga ini akan mengikuti Lang Leav yang sangat mendunia, namun saya salah. Lala Bohang memiliki style sendiri yang menurut saya harus dipertahankan agar tidak dituduh mengekor popularitas Lang Leav dengan buku puisi dan ilustrasinya :).

Anyway, berikut puisi singkat yang menurut saya sangat jujur dan ngeselin, sekaligus bikin saya kepingkal-pingkal.

To sum up, 147 halaman The Book of Forbidden Feelings ini adalah one of the joy of reading. Can't wait for the next book, miss Lala!
