" When given the choice between the right or being kind, choose kind" _Wonder, R.J Palacio

Given the first quote above about being right or kind might be tickle your expectation. This book should  be humanism-theme when human torn between his duty to be kind person to the other, or just to be the rightful man and leave the heart locked in somewhere.

The truth is, this book is a heart-feeding book. A very good vitamin to made us as kind and heart person. Spoiler alert, this book will squeeze your heart because there are many sincerity, love and attention.

Most of all, it is about August Pullman, 5th grader boy who has been home schooled for his entire life due to his Treacher-Collins syndrome or in a rude way, has caused his face deformed.

August is a sweetheart, he is living with his loving parents, a very attentive sister, Olivia and mutt dog whom love to lick his face, Daisy. But due to his condition, he didn't have many friends and always try to  avoid public attention. He is a fragile human being so when his parents try to enroll him to public school, he is freak out. It is like throwing a lamb to be slaughtered.

Turns out, his fear is come true. Before the school started, August have known three students that initially dedicated to be his friend which introduced by the Head master but they are just mean as any other students. They treat him like a germs, no one talk with him except one beautiful girl, Summer.

School day is like a hell for August and its change him slowly but sure. He is trying to be tough and kept his sorrow buried under his heart-and he is easily frustrated.

Told from different point of view, Via- August's sister. The story flow how the first time she saw august as baby. She accept and love his brother as the way he is. Moreover, She is very protective to his brother. But High School is much different than in Junior High School. Her split with her best friend, and how different her environment made her change also. She doesn't want people know that she is Via- a girl with deformed brother. Once in lifetime, she want to be herself, just Via because in her entire life, her parents are so drawn with August's condition, not her.

Overall this book is children fiction, but the sincerity and the beautiful story is very inspiring. The story is flowing with simple and understanding language. After reading this book instantly made me believe that the world is still full of kind-hearted human. What really drawn me is when Via's boy friend told as follows:

“no, no, it's not all random, if it really was all random, the universe would abandon us completely. and the universe doesn't. it takes care of its most fragile creations in ways we can't see. like with parents who adore you blindly. and a big sister who feels guilty for being human over you. and a little gravelly-voiced kid whose friends have left him over you. and even a pink-haired girl who carries your picture in her wallet. maybe it is a lottery, but the universe makes it all even out in the end. the universe takes care of all its birds.”

Correct, right??Yes there is always a good side in a bad story. God make everything in justice in the way we can't see it clearly.

I give 3 out of 5 stars for this book. The story is beautiful but I'd rather dislike the PoV. Too many PoV, the conflicts also too simple for adult like me :)

Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami

Strange Weather in Tokyo Tsukiko, thirty-eight, works in an office and lives alone. One night, she happens to meet one of her former high school teachers, "Sensei," in a local bar. Tsukiko had only ever called him "Sensei" ("Teacher"). He is thirty years her senior, retired, and presumably a widower. Their relationship develops from a perfunctory acknowledgment of each other as they eat and drink alone at the bar, to a hesitant intimacy which tilts awkwardly and poignantly into love. As Tsukiko and Sensei grow to know and love one another, time's passing is marked by Kawakami's gentle hints at the changing seasons: from warm sake to chilled beer, from the buds on the trees to the blooming of the cherry blossoms. Strange Weather in Tokyo is a moving, funny, and immersive tale of modern Japan and old-fashioned romance.  **** Strange Weather in Tokyo Author : Hiromi Kawakami Translator : Allison Markin Powell Published...
