Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

Milk and Honey Book ID: Judul : Milk and Honey Penulis : Rupi Kaur Halaman : 204 halaman Bahasa : Inggris Tahun terbit : 2014 *** Spoiler dulu ya, sejujurnya, pengetahuan saya tentang puisi sangat terbatas. Mengutip dari salah satu halamannya: "I didn't leave because I stopped loving you I left because the longer I stayed the Less I Loved myself "

Little Fires Everywhere

Little Fires everywhere Blurbs: In Shaker Heights, a placid, progressive suburb of Cleveland, everything is planned – from the layout of the winding roads, to the colors of the houses, to the successful lives its residents will go on to lead. And no one embodies this spirit more than Elena Richardson, whose guiding principle is playing by the rules. Enter Mia Warren – an enigmatic artist and single mother – who arrives in this idyllic bubble with her teenaged daughter Pearl, and rents a house from the Richardsons. Soon Mia and Pearl become more than tenants: all four Richardson children are drawn to the mother-daughter pair. But Mia carries with her a mysterious past and a disregard for the status quo that threatens to upend this carefully ordered community. When old family friends of the Richardsons attempt to adopt a Chinese-American baby, a custody battle erupts that dramatically divides the town--and puts Mia and Elena on opposing sides.  Suspicious of Mia and her motives

Rich People Problem

Catchy Cover Rich People Problem Blurbs:  When Nicholas Young hears that his grandmother, Su Yi, is on her deathbed, he rushes to be by her bedside—but he's not alone. The entire Shang-Young clan has convened from all corners of the globe to stake claim on their matriarch’s massive fortune. With each family member vying to inherit Tyersall Park—a trophy estate on 64 prime acres in the heart of Singapore—Nicholas’s childhood home turns into a hotbed of speculation and sabotage. As her relatives fight over heirlooms, Astrid Leong is at the center of her own storm, desperately in love with her old sweetheart Charlie Wu, but tormented by her ex-husband—a man hell bent on destroying Astrid’s reputation and relationship. Meanwhile Kitty Pong, married to China’s second richest man, billionaire Jack Bing, still feels second best next to her new step-daughter, famous fashionista Colette Bing. A sweeping novel that takes us from the elegantly appointed mansions of Manil

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely fine

It worth 8 hours straight Reading Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she’s thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office. When she and Raymond together save Sammy, an elderly gentleman who has fallen on the sidewalk, the three become the kinds of friends who rescue one another from the lives of isolation they have each been living. And it is Raymond’s big heart that will ultimately help Eleanor find the way to repair her own profoundly damaged one. Smart, warm, uplifting, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is the story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine whose deadpan weirdness and unconscious wit make for an irresistible journey as she realizes. . .   The only way to s

Sad Girls by Lang Leav

Sad Girls *** "So it got me thinking, because a lot of literatur is about struggle, but I don't think all writers are sad. I think it's the other way around-all sad people write. It's a form of catharsis, a way of working through things that feel unresolved, like undoing a knot. People who are prone to sadness are more likely to pick up a pen."_pg 141 *** Ketika mendengar Lang Leav mengeluarkan novel, dan tebal terus terang saya ecstatic. Saya membatin, 'akhirnya sang penyair idola saya mengeluarkan novel.' Namun saya tidak memiliki ekspektasi apapun kecuali; major hits. Dibuka dengan sebuah kalimat yang menurut saya, puitis, untuk sebuah novel: I was three weeks shy of turning eighteen when I was struck with cruel affliction of anxiety_ Diksi yang dipilih oleh Lang Leav jelas jauh dari kata praktis, melainkan sebuah art. Disusun sedemikian hingga terdengar indah dibaca tanpa mengaburkan makna aslinya. Untuk puisi? Ya, sangat relevan, untu
